If you have one of the following cars and get the check engine light and instead of the "D" for the automatic shifter you will see an "X" kinda (all the symbols at once basically) check this out:
Applies to: Holden Viva, Suzuki Forenza, Buick Excelle, Daewoo Nubira, Chevrolet Lacetti, Chervolet Optra.
Tools: screw driver, 8,10, 13 mm wrench keys, bolt+washer+nuts
Other tool not needed: scan tool, Transmission Range switch sensor, shop, mechanic, knowledge.
So first thing: disconnect battery.
Now: enter car, remove transmission know by rotation chrome plastic and pull.
Remove console, two screws near feat (front) two screws at the back of the seats, and two more screws in the after you pull the back-end console.
Atfer this you can see the shifting stuff and a the PRND321 console, it is hold by 4 bolts, remove it. Now the interesting part: you will see the linkage, cut it brake it, whatever in order to to release the cable coming from the tranny. Instead of the factory nut put a bolt, washers and nuts. Reconnect the battery, turn key ON and start shifting until all PRND321 shows on screen and the teeth catch on.Screw in Tight. Almost Done!!!!
DONE dudes!
it is just the nut making the shift sensor stay between contacts!!
